Residential Wiring and Electricity

Students learn how to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. To be em- ployed as an electrician, training involving both hands-on experience and learning from experienced workers is a must. Here at LCTI, students get exactly that. This certificate program prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for employment in the residential electrical trade. The curriculum offers a basic framework of electrical theory and provides the hands-on skills needed to install, service and maintain electrical equipment in residential settings. Class includes instruction on electrical safety, trade tools, electrical theory, common residential wiring installations, troubleshooting and repairing residential service, determining circuit load calculations and NEC Code compliance. Students will have the opportunity to complete the OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety training and prepare for a municipal licensing exam.

***REFUND POLICY: With notification of cancellation from the student 24 hours prior to the start of class, tuition will be refunded minus the application fee. After start of class there is a no refund policy.***

***CANCELLATION POLICY: Courses and workshops are subject to cancellation if the minimum enrollment is not attained. In such cases, the student will receive a full refund, and he/she will be notified by phone at least 24 hours prior to the start of class.
