SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (SMAW/Stick)

This course covers the fundamentals of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process: including safety, and machine set-up/operation. Students will practice making fillet and groove welds in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using commonly utilized "stick" welding electrodes, on mild steel. Students will also receive instruction in preparing steel for welding using oxy-acetylene torches, angle grinders, and other metalworking equipment.


***REFUND POLICY: With notification of cancellation from the student 24 hours prior to the start of class, tuition will be refunded minus the application fee. After start of class there is a no refund policy.***

***CANCELLATION POLICY: Courses and workshops are subject to cancellation if the minimum enrollment is not attained. In such cases, the student will receive a full refund, and he/she will be notified by phone at least 24 hours prior to the start of class.
